Influenced by the many stories of woman whom have exhibited such great strength and power in their lives, I decided to paint a piece that highlights just this. I also wanted to acknowledge the great beauty and power in female form. I used natural earthy colours to represent the earths grounding qualities and the many woman living close to nature such as the desert. Mixed with shades of blue representing the ocean, to contrast, and tinges of red to give the image a bit of fire and energy.
