Kyberbelt
by Cate Curwood
Acrylic, Markers, Watercolour and Glitter on Canvas 3.0cm (D) x 92.0cm (H) x 61.0cm (W), unframed 1.4 kg
After watching yet another astounding BBC documentary on space, new knowledge always inspired me. This piece is describing where this planet's DNA has been located.
The jelly bean ring around the bottom of the painting is the Kyberbelt, an asteroid belt holding our planet's DNA. The Asteroid encircles the very outer rim of our galaxy. The planets and moons are depicted in this order Erus on the bottom left and corner on the outer rim of the Kyberbelt. Then on the inner side of the Kyberbelt there is Neptune (with Solar Flare display), Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, Ceres, Mars, Earth, Venus, Mercury and of course the Sun.
Yet again I like your eye to travel along a wondering perspective.
