This painting reflects my passion (as a layperson!) for science and scientific discovery‚ and the sense of wonder that comes with that.
It's a surrealistic scene‚ in which a woman‚ standing on a ladder‚ watches strange and impossible shapes hovering above a desert - seeking to discover more about the unknown.
The sky is a pale cobalt blue. Most of the painting is in subdued tones of browns and yellows‚ apart from the woman's ultramarine skirt and the flowers in her hair.
The impossible cubes are recurring images in my work‚ as are figures trying to make sense of their environment.
