While on a walk through the Kershaw Botanical Gardens I came across this small but exotic blue fountain. Involuntarily I was drawn closer, capturing this brilliant moment in time, illuminated by a beam of incandescent light. The more I observed the bubbling flow of water, the more I was fascinated by its mesmerizing shade of blue. Unquestionably this was the inspiration for my next painting.
In striving to recreate the fountain’s reviving spirit, I have layered paint numerous times to mirror the water ripples as they erupted on the surface. This repetitive rather tedious behaviour leads me to believe that water does not follow a predetermined course, but simply keeps flowing onward where life takes it. Life Springs Eternal.
