The inspiration for this painting came to me while spending 4 weeks in Port Douglas in the tropical North of eastern Australia. I was Artist in Residence and had the joy of daily visits to the surrounding rainforests. Full of fantasy‚ this painting represents the colours and birds which live in this wonderland. Cassowary‚ Honeyeater‚ Yellowbilled Kingfisher‚ Eclectus Parrot‚ Orangefooted Scrubfowl‚ all amongst the richness of the rainforest flora.
