Like many, I have always been drawn to bonsai. The way it grows so gnarled, and twisted, and the way it plays with your scale perception. This particular bonsai painting aimed to capture all those attributes, as well as a moment of in the season where it is in bloom... such moments are often captured in Japanese art, as they signify the nuances of the changes in nature across the seasons.
