Artwork Description

I am always delighted by the abundance of life which I encounter when I dive in the waters of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia. As your head dips below the surface a myriad of colour is right before your eyes.

I continue to paint this style of fish painting. If one morsel of food is dropped into the water, the fish all dart to get it. This is one of my fish feeding series of paintings.

All art by Wendy Eriksson

Sydney Opera Tonight by Wendy Eriksson. Semi-abstract artwork created using mark making. Mixed media including acrylic and wax.A contemporary painting of a simple still life. This artwork uses bold‚ quick‚ brushstrokes to create energy. Loosely executed with a limited palette.A contemporary artwork filled with movement and colour. It is full of collaged shapes and also imagery of old english pound notes.

When creating it‚ it reminded me of the ten pound tourists who journeyed from far away‚ to settle in Australia.
