Most of the people who have seen this painting have said that it looks like lava flowing slowly into the sea. This painting instills a feeling of utter calm in me, though I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe it's because even with the moody, contrasting, and rather dense colours, there's still the serenity of a gentle sky and a smidge of sunlight at the periphery.
Either way, I think this painting would look excellent in a dark wood or black frame, size 5 x 7 :)
