Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
Simple pleasures in life can require a small amount of effort with a ton of imagination. Seeing children at play, without technology but with natural elements like sand and water mixed with imagination is a delight to watch. I loved how these children got to work on a beach in Noosa, where we stayed recently, their little bodies silhouetted against the sparkle of the ocean, basked in warm sunlight. I wanted to tie in the swimmers so one child is looking over to them while the other two get to work at their play. I wanted the overall painting to be simplistic, understated with little detail to reflect the moment.
