"February Morning" depicts the warmth of a sunrise over the ocean at blue hour, the short, quiet time before sunrise. Painted intuitively & by feeling, Abbey has depicted the ocean between North & South Curl Curl, on Sydney's Northern Beaches, where she calls home. Most mornings, she watches the sunrise with her dog Pepper whilst enjoying a freshly brewed coffee. To her, the sky is a painter that gifts us with a new piece & a fresh perspective everyday.
Abbey has used high contrast colours and a graphic, block colour style to portray a sense of playfulness, joy and happiness she feels in the mornings when woken by the sunrise over the sea in the work.
