The painting represents life.

The black & white background are the yin & yang of life, all the trouble & also the peace, sometimes in large patches of only 1 colour but often swirling together.

The pink & red lines represent our blood lines, our ideas, thoughts, emotions, lives. Some paler with happiness, some red as they show deeper passion. These lines venture alone at times but connect and leave and even re-connect as time passes.

The green plants feed all of us to keep us alive.

The tree stumps signify our being cut, chopped down by circumstance, ruined by our mistakes or external attacks. The tree roots signify the uprooting & re-establishing ourselves somewhere else, either literally or figuratively.

The blue is water to nurture the plants we eat & to provide our cells with the moisture we need to live. Water is also the waters of rivers & oceans many of us & our ancestors have crossed as they uprooted themselves. The blue patches also drop tears for the sadness we endure in life & the drops of rain that fall on the beautiful ground.

The orange flowers are the special joys & pleasures that make us smile when we most need to.

The golden stars represent our brilliant ideas, successes, wins, & the divine sparks that give life to us & whatever we do in this interesting & varied life.
