This piece started out as a study for a series of works inspired by the Tamar River, Northern Tasmania. The Tamar is a wide slow river which meanders around Launceston where I was making frequent visits with my partner to visit family. The reed like growths in the river are called 'Cumbungi'. Whilst they have a wafting beauty, they are in reality a pest weed, quietly killing the river. Darkness and beauty combined.
Artwork is painted on canvas and stretched, no frame. D-ring and wire on back, ready to hang.
