This was piece was inspired by a few of my favourite artists who specialise in spontaneous realism. I love the contrast of the simplicity of the black and white portrait against the vibrant gold background. The inspiration for this painting came from societies fascination with influencers, the new form of celebrity who seems to be famous for being famous. Andy Warhol talk about this phenomena in the terms of 15 minutes of fame, its interesting to see how this has evolved when anyone can be instafamous.
