I wanted to challenge myself with the technical and observational difficulty of painting reflections. What is over and what is under the surface, and how these two worlds interact with the third element - the surface itself. Psychologically speaking, as people we probably all to some extent try to reflect back what or who is around us and give only glimpses into the murky depths of our true selves and the unperceived monsters that lie beneath... It's also a lovely painting of fish in a pond.
