The incentive behind this work was to recreate a painting by Grace Cossington Smith called Figure with Flowers. Looking similar to my own daughter, I decided to pay homage to this piece by photographing my daughter as the starting point of the painting, and adding similar flowers and backdrop to the original. Trying to keep with then Expressionistic / modernism style, and echoing the Bloomsbury Group. Colours keeping in tone with English Cottage style decorating, or alternatively Australian Style cottage decorating. The feature colours in the artwork are sage greens, and dusty blues.
