Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

From the 1970's French Comic books The Adventures of Asterix or in French Astérix le Gaulois. These comic books helped me to learn to read. They were my first real reading of normal super heroes in comic books. They were as popular as Tintin and Snowy. They are still being published today but with different artists.

The artwork is all fabric used like decoupage/collage. Most of the material is plain but some are patterned. There is no paint or markings of any kind. Once create on fabric, I had it stretched by a local art framers, whose learnt to frame these different works.,

The image is made from fabric some patterned and plain, glued on a black clothPortrait of a HorseTwo women, one in staring into space contemplating her next move, the other calm and relaxed eyes shut mid slow blink and closer to the viewer. This is all fabric and is referred to as Fabric Art or Textile Art. The women were from a comic book, and were based on Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell from the 1960's. My inspiration for textile art is Bisa Butler whose works are amazing.Green Tree Frog
