A sense of being within nature right in the depths of a forest. Very atmospheric with fluidity and movement. Painted in a 'painterly' manner, showing brush strokes, allowing the paint to flow across the paper in some instances. The early psychologist Jung refered to dreams about a forest relating to the unconscious, our instincts, and also relates to a place where life thrives. I love this powerful metaphor. This was painted whilst camping in a lovely spot beside a national park in New South Wales, where I could look through the forest and enjoy the tranquilty of layers and layers of trees and leaves.
