This artwork is a part of a studio mini series where every week I paint 1-2 artworks smaller than 30x30cm. The purpose of the series is to establish a regular art practice that pushes me to experiment and try new things within a small timeframe. This is an opportunity to try new colours, marks, techniques and/or mediums and simply enjoy my time in the art studio.

This particular painting is a new style for me, I began by creating abstract marks on my canvas and then about halfway through the painting I was inspired to use photographs from my recent trip to Rainbow Beach to resolve the painting.
