Mulga Parrots
By Little Heath
September 2023
This painting is about the Mulga Parrot which survives in dry areas and often perches in trees near temporary streams. It owes its name to the semi-arid Mulga vegetation that covers the largest part of the Australian Outback.
The Mulga Parrot is a quiet and reserved bird & nests in the cavity of a tree or tunnels dug in creek banks .
This story will be printed and attached to back of canvas .
This painting took a few months to paint and is big, bright and beautiful. It will give any room a warm glowing feeling .
Poem by Little Heath.
Amidst the Outback's ancient Acacias and Gum trees,
The Mulga Parrot finds its home,
Nesting in burrows along creek banks and gnarled roots,
Its colorful plumage a vibrant contrast to the earthy tones.
High in the sky, it soars and roosts in tall trees,
A flash of green and yellow against the endless blue,
Children's laughter rings out at the sound of it's chirping,
A joyous symphony echoing through the vast expanse.
