In this piece I have tried to create a bird that I have seen many times while living in northern and southern Australia but in a loose painterly style. I have been influenced heavily by the pet portrait artists Jennifer Gennari and Jen Brandon who paint loose and expressively as well as my mentor Trevor Newman.
