ARTWORK STORY // DESCRIPTION
There’s a cake in the oven. Rich and sweet, the aroma fills the house with the warmth and steadiness of a day well spent.

I drop my keys in the bowl by the door and follow my nose to the kitchen. A knee high Batmobile blocks the hallway. It’s abandoned, covered in crumbs and greasy fingerprints. The kitchen is also abandoned. A timer flashes on the oven, nine minutes until cake time.

A shriek of laughter erupts from the back veranda, a drumroll of tiny feet pounds on the wooden floors and my daughter bursts through the door into the kitchen and flings herself bodily into my legs, wrapping me up in her tiny arms.

“What flavour is it today?” I ask her.

FRAMING NOTE
The photographs are of the artwork stretched on a temporary frame that we use for painting the piece, it is not ready to hang. It will arrive rolled over a large tube. Stretching can be done by your local frame shops or we can organise it on a request.

HOW ARTWORK IS CREATED
Our art is crafted by hand in our stunning studio in beautiful Queensland. We spend a lot of time perfecting each canvas.

We flesh-out every idea for each composition, including palette, purpose and atmosphere of each work. Sometimes a dozen sketches are completed before we even start, ensuring the best quality possible.
