Deep Sea Lizardfish Facts:
Scientific name: Bathysaurus ferox
Inhabits the ‘Midnight Zone’. (Found mainly between 600m and 3,500m below the surface)
Did you know? Although capable of short bursts of speed to catch prey, the Deep Sea Lizardfish are by no means strong swimmers. They spend most of their time sitting near the ocean floor, waiting for their food to come to them. When the do choose to move about their territory, they don’t swim, but rather ‘waddle’ over the seabed!
This painting is acrylic on stretched canvas, sealed with gloss varnish. It is wired and ready to hang.
The gallery-wrapped edges of the canvas are painted, so there is no need for framing.
